23rd August 2009 - One wet miserable day in AUGUST!!!
Last Updated: 23/08/2009

Today (23/8/9) we ran a very soggy Novice Taster day at Titwood. The format of the day was supposed to be over some of the cross country fences but that unfortunately could not happen as we are trying to preserve the course for the Area 1 Hunter Trials on 13th September. So we decided we would still have the dressage and make a showjumping track which basically covered 2 fields as if going Cross Country and then finish with some Show jumps straight after - we didnt want to let our members down and its not our fault you got soaked!!

Kerrie, Kirsteen, Mugs and the grandchildren got to work yesterday laying the course (it was a lovely dry day!!). Anyway we all woke up this morning 23/8/9 to another wet miserable SOGGY August day. Several people called to see if we would still run and we did. It was probably the soggiest dressage test anyone has ever done but everyone completed it. Then they went show jumping over the fields. Well done and thank you to everyone who turned up to either take part or help. Especially those who plaited those poor horses or washed their horses (Gillian - yours looked luvly)oh and Sophie hope the hangover didnt get much worse!

I wish we had a crystal ball and we knew what the weather would be for our events. It is not easy but it makes it all worthwhile when we see people enjoying themselves. Massive thanks to all our helpers Caroline, Kara, Susan x 2, Donna, Frances, Pat, Charlie, Kevin (although he had no choice) and of course Mugs and Kerrie as always. Thanks competitors for taking part and your help afterwards also we hope you all dried off ok and snuggled down to nice old film in the afternoon.
