28th June 2010 - Freeze Marking: Protect against stolen horses

Recently a number of horses and ponies in the Galston/Darvel area have been marked for theft. Theives are marking horses while they graze in fields by plaiting a section of mane, or cutting a section in front of the withers. Police have been informed of incidents and ask that horse owners are more vigiliant.
